Kevin was a successful business owner and contractor who for the last several years desired to be a day trader. As we dug deeper together he discovered that day-trading wasn’t really his life vision. That was just a step along the way. It was obvious he couldn’t see beyond that one goal. To him, anything beyond that was just “white space,” undefined and unexamined.

And probing even deeper, he discovered he wanted a better, more communicative, relationship with his wife.

As we probed, we discovered that, although successful, Kevin couldn’t keep doing his current job anymore. He saw day trading as an escape hatch. What he really wanted was a comfortable retirement where his wife no longer had to work, he could be out of his contracting business, and they could live and travel wherever and whenever they wanted. And probing even deeper, he discovered he wanted a better, more communicative, relationship with his wife. We guided him to look beyond day trading as his only solution to a happier, healthier life – which was a fine transition from his legacy career – to better define what up until then was the “white space” of his life, what he really wanted long term.

We helped Kevin rediscover his life vision, purpose and goals and we documented them for him in “My Life Story Workbook.” It gave him an objective look at where he was in life and how he got there. It gave him Hindsight, Insight and Foresight.

From there, we developed an initial roadmap covering the next 90 days. But it’s not quite that simple. Kevin then faced a critical choice point.

Would Kevin take the steps to secure a retirement where his wife didn’t have to work and they could share a more open, communicative relationship?

Presently, Kevin is half way through his first 90-day roadmap. Soon he will begin his day trading, but now he realizes that day trading is merely a short-term preference, not a long-term life goal. He’s working on controlling his finances and, most importantly, communicating better with his wife. He has a plan and we are there to guide him – and provide access to needed resources along the way. He has shared that without the examination on his current state and the discovery of the opportunities/challenges in front of him, he could not see clearly how to get to his desired state – his vision for his retirement years with his wife.
